How Coaching Works

Strategic academic coaching designed to help capable students strengthen thinking, develop disciplined writing, and build systems that support consistent performance.

Initial Conversation

We begin with a consultation focused on your student’s current academic experience, patterns, strengths, and areas of concern. This conversation helps determine whether coaching is the right fit and what kind of support would be most valuable.

Typical focus: writing, reading analysis, academic systems, test preparation, and overall performance patterns

Personalized Plan

After the consultation, I will identify the most appropriate starting point for your student. Support is tailored to the individual and may include analytical reading, writing instruction, academic systems, executive function support, or test preparation.

Typical starting points: analytical reading, writing instruction, academic systems, executive function, or test preparation

Ongoing Coaching

Coaching sessions are individualized and designed to strengthen both skill and performance over time. Depending on the student, sessions may focus on analytical reading, writing development, executive function, academic systems, or preparation for high-stakes assessments.

Built to develop independence, not dependence.

Parent Communication

Parents remain informed about the broader goals of coaching, areas of focus, and meaningful patterns that emerge over time. Communication is thoughtful and selective, with emphasis on what is most useful for supporting student growth.

The goal is clarity, not constant reporting.

Is This the Right Fit?

Coaching is best suited to capable middle and high school students who are ready to strengthen thinking, writing, academic systems, and overall performance in a serious and individualized way.

Best for capable students who are ready for serious, individualized support.
